SIGNS OF SPRING

After a week of daytime temperatures in the 70's-80's the community gardeners have been tempted to start planting hardy spring crops (peas, lettuce, spinach, etc.).  However, we've been burned before so have exercised restraint, and a good thing too, as Sunday night temperatures will be in the mid-20's!

But the ground doesn't know that, and the warming soil has produced growth from perennials.

Chives - always the firs herb to appear

Garlic - can't wait for the scapes!

The daffodils are looking lovely

It won't be long before the first
of the asparagus can be harvested!
